Yes, the customization is in the escutcheon embossed on the glass, recalling the brand and its origin: Lillet 1872. VOA created this mould especially for us at our request. We wanted to underline the authenticity and the years of experience that characterize the Maison Lillet. That’s why our quality requirements were strict and VOA responded perfectly to our expectations.
Tell us a little about the history of Lillet aperitifs...
The birth of Lillet aperitifs can be traced to the arrival of Jean de Lillet in the heart of the Gironde, at Podensac, in the heart of Bordeaux wine country, in 1680. His descendants Paul and Raymond Lillet who created the Maison Lillet in 1872 and the aperitifs Lillet Blanc and Lillet Rouge in 1887. Very renowned in France during the thirties, Lillet had great success and quickly became the fashionable aperitif.
Lillet also was equally sought after in New York bars during the fifties, where it was considered the hippest high-end drink. Today, it is strengthening its presence in the US by capitalizing on French know-how and elegance and is returning to conquer France with its two points of reference: Lillet Blanc and Lillet Rouge.
What are the elements that make Lillet Blanc and Lillet Rouge special?
Lillet Blanc and Lillet Rouge are aperitifs with a mellow and fruity flavor. Lillet Blanc is characterized by the aroma of candied oranges, honey and pine resin, whereas Lillet Rouge brings the aromas of red fruits and vanilla to the fore.
