Interview with Fréderic Salin, owner of the Domaine de TAMARY Grands crus

What sets this AOC rosé wine apart from others ?

The fleshy rose petal color; the AOC Côtes de Provence La Londe is a result of a mixture of cepages: 40% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 13% Syrah and 7% Mourvèdre. The nose distinguishes floral notes that precede a flavor both smooth and rich in citrus and exotic fruit.

Without a doubt, it’s the exceptional geographic situation of the terraces of the Domaine, with their plunging view on the crystalline waters of the Mediterrenean that gives it its freshness, minerality and authenticity.

How would you describe your partnership with the VOA ?

After years of working together for bottling the chateau’s products, we’ve been able to appreciate the seriousness of the teams and their well-known creativity. We maintain cordial relations with the VOA, which allows us to approach each bottling with confidence.

From a logistical and quality point of view, the VOA is a valuable partner on whom we can always rely.

What guided your choice of container ?

For our domaine, we wanted a thinner and more elegant bottle than the bottles traditionally used in the Bordeaux region. We naturally turned to the Magnum Élégance Extra Flint model; its slender silhouette and the length of its neck met our criteria.

We also imagined a vertical plate capable of showing the name of the vineyard and which could be read horizontally. In this way the aficionado can know the origin of the rosé even as it sits patiently in an ice bucket.

What are your distribution channels?

We distribute our products via the retailing market and restaurants. Foreign consumers are equally fond of Provence AOC rosés, synonymous with the land of Provencal flavors and images of the “blue Mediterranean”.

For this reason, we chose this bottle with a festive and feminine allure and adorned it with a cicada, the quintessential emblem of Provence.
